All About: Appointments

So you just got engaged, what's next? Here are 7 useful tips to prepare for your first bridal fitting with us!

SET A DATE.

While you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of time to look for a dress we suggest waiting until you have your date and venue secured before coming for your dress fitting. Once you’ve secured your date and venue, it will be much easier to narrow down your choices to match your venue and aesthetic.

SET A BUDGET.

Having a solid budget in mind can help to eliminate unnecessary stress. Research the average price of wedding dresses and then set a budget that is in your comfort zone.

RESEARCH YOUR FAVOURITE STYLES.

Doing some preliminary research on the types of necklines, silhouettes, and fabrics you like can jumpstart the appointment and give the consultant initial ideas of dresses to pull. It will also be helpful to know which designers you resonate with, which will help streamline your selection of pieces. Check out our full selection of designers we carry here.

WHO TO BRING.

We recommend keeping your entourage small, only bringing your nearest and dearest with you to attend your bridal fitting. Too many differing opinions usually lead to confusion and frustration, so choose who you bring wisely! A tip from us is to bring a decisive friend or family member that will help you assess the choices and to choose the perfect wedding dress, or go solo, without the pressure and other opinions, because at the end of the day, only yours matter.

AFTER YOUR FITTING.

Satisfy your hunger after a post-wedding dress shopping lunch somewhere with your entourage so that you can celebrate with some delicious food and fizz! It’ll also give you time to chat over the dresses if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed.
We suggest Double Zero, conveniently at the first floor of our building, or across the road to @uykd,

Psst.. all Ivory brides get 10% off the menu at Double Zero!

WHAT TO BRING.

We’d advise that you bring along nude underwear, as well as a strapless bra. If you’re struggling to know what to wear, drop the team a note and we can offer some helpful tips! Your undergarments can have a huge impact on how a gown fits and you don’t want bright bra straps to distract from what you’re trying on. All our gowns are padded so you are encouraged to wear a self adhesive bra or nipple tape for the extra volume or practicality.

WHAT TO WEAR.

Wear something comfortable as you’d be trying a good amount of dresses. Anything breezy and easy for you to slip in and out of is perfect! We also recommend opting for minimal makeup to look put together while avoiding staining the pieces.
